Gettin' to the gainz 🍑

Happy Friday everyone!

As I sit here eating my Raisin Bran, and yes, I like Raisin Bran, I thought to myself, “So many people have been asking me what I’ve been eating, I should share”.

So here we are.

First things first, I have the slightest clue how much I weigh. I do not weigh myself, I simply try on clothes that were bigger on me before to see how much progress I’ve made 🥴. I’ve always had a slim frame, but recently, I lost a ton of weight. I’m talking none of my jeans were fitting and you could see my bones. Not cute.

I’ve finally been taking the steps to be proactive, and my appetite has opened up so much! I use to eat maybe once a day during my downfall, and now I’m at a solid 3 meals and snacks #lesgooooo

If you’re looking for a super healthy diet, this isn’t it. I’m extremely picky, and I’ll always pick pizza over salad. Actually, I don’t even eat salad. What I will say is the foods I’m going to list have helped and are helping me gain weight!

BREAKFAST:

  • Smoothies: MMM, my fave! This is what started opening my breakfast appetite! My go-to is strawberry banana! You can use any fruits you like (get creative), and add yogurt, protein powder, granola, and any other goodies! If you like peanut butter, it’s a great add in to your smoothie for extra gainz.

  • Cereal: With so many cereal options, I’m sure there’s something you’ll like! You also don’t have to keep this as strictly breakfast, but it can be a snack mid-day, or before bedtime!

  • Bread: Okay so bread is lit for the gainz. Like, forreal. I go to Stop and Shop and cop the fresh baked artesian breads, bagels, croissants, and so on. I like to do little breakfast sandwiches like the classic “baconeggandcheese”, honey turkey with Swiss, or sometimes just a bagel with cream cheese. I always add a little butter to my sandwiches as well! #Gainz

  • Eggs: A good gain! Sometimes I do egg whites with cheese on toast, boiled eggs, scrambled, or sunny side up. Those are my faves. A little salt and pepper 🔥. I also like to add eggs into my lunch/dinner, which we’ll get into.

  • Orange juice: I mean, YUM. Fresh OJ is taste great AND it’s good for you!

Before we continue, I want to note that breakfast is such an important meal. PLEASE DO NOT SKIP IT. I completely know what it’s like to not have an appetite, so starting with things like fresh fruit and water, or a smoothie, is great. Your body will thank you.

LUNCH/DINNER:

  • You guessed it, PIZZA: I am the ultimate pizza girl! If you're ever in Jamaica Queens, grab Margherita Pizza 🤤 You’re welcome. Nonetheless, you can create your own pizza at home too! I’m always poppin’ pizza in the oven!

  • Rice: White rice, brown rice, yellow rice, totally up to you, but rice is a great gain!

  • Protein: Chicken, beef, pork. I don’t eat pork much, but I do eat chicken and usually beef in my pasta (ground beef). Curry chicken is one of my favorite things to make, as well as BBQ chicken (I’m making some tonight!). You can get super creative because there are so many different flavors/recipes you can use and create! Have fun with it!

  • Seafood: Shrimpys, crabbies, fishies, squidies, I could keep going!

  • Quesadillas/Tacos: Love me some tacos! Another meal you can get super creative and add whatever you like, plus fun sauces!

  • Potatoes: I love potatoes 🤤 I like to add eggs into my mash potatoes sometimes! Baked potatoes, french fries, and UGH SWEEEET POTATO FRIES!

  • Burgers: I love doing homemade burgers! Some ground beef and extra garlic and oil flavor! Super easy, quick, and delicious! *I may need to do a burger tutorial on my Youtube channel!*

  • Pasta: I’m a big pasta girl! I like to get yummy sauces, and flavor it up! You can always add different protein in for extra gainz! I always add cheese, and play with different pasta shapes!

SNACKS:

  • Fruit: Bananas, strawberries, oranges, peaches, all fruits are so yummy!

  • Peanut butter: PB&J sammies are always a vibe! You can always have one with fruit, and yogurt for a light lunch too!

  • Nuts: Cashews, almonds, peanuts, sunflower seeds, and I can keep going.

  • Yogurt/String cheese: Taste good and good for you, it’s a win/win.

  • Milkshakes, ice-cream, cake: Okay, I had to add these in. I am such a dessert girl! Ugh! I always have to have one of these after a meal, especially dinner! I keep ice-cream in my fridge at all times! Haha!

GYM:

I will absolutely say that once I started getting more active, my appetite increased. I found myself eating before and right after the gym. You don’t necessarily have to get in a gym, but you can get active at home! With the current quarantine going on, I’ve been using my resistance bands and kettlebell at home. I even did an IG live workout the other night, and have been finding that Youtube is a great place for workout routines!
